Day 402 – Progress update – door, siding, trim and more!

July 26, 2011

July 26, 2011 – It’s been awhile since our last post, so this will be a quick update as to what’s been happening. Since our last update, we’ve:

  1. Installed trim for the new front door and caulked
  2. Stained, and applied two coats of gloss to front door
  3. Moved house numbers to new location under porch light
  4. Reorientated porch light
  5. Repainted and hung mailbox
  6. Got most of the under porch area sided
  7. Began repairing the interior damage to the lath and plaster done on the door install
  8. Had work on the plumbing commence.

First, here’s some shots of the new door, trim and siding. In addition to the mailbox being hung (you have no idea how nice it is to be able to attach a mailbox back on our house!) we also painted the bracket that holds the house numbers. Black is the new white, don’t you know…

The plumbing also began, and they’ve been at work for a few days now. It’s nearly done, with the lines pressurized for the first time today. We haven’t had inspection on any of the interior work yet, but the plumbers still have to make a few connections for the shower and toilet on the first floor, as well as run the venting to the roof. The hot and cold lines are being run with pex tubing.

Upstairs rough-in for two sinks

Pex as it makes the transition from the basement to the new addition
